Founder BIO

In 1986, he joined Sumitomo Bank. After being involved in business restructuring and financial support for large corporations in distress, he worked on the front lines to resolve the non-performing loan crisis. He later oversaw and led efforts at Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in strengthening systems for compliance, corporate governance, risk management, and overall crisis management on a global and group-wide basis. Most recently, as Senior Managing Executive Officer (and a member of the Management Committee), he supervised credit screening functions and took a hands-on leadership role in managing large-scale loan cases. In March 2023, he resigned from both companies as Senior Managing Executive Officer and founded Brighten Japan.
