In 1990, he joined Mitsubishi Trust and Banking Corporation, where he was responsible for international finance and corporate lending.
In 1996, he worked at Japan AT&T, where he was involved in the startup of international communication services.
In 1998, he joined Schroder Ventures (now MKS Partners), where he was actively involved in venture investments, buyout investments, and corporate revitalization investments. As a partner at the firm, he participated in decision-making and management of all investment projects.
In 2005, he joined the Carlyle Group, where he worked in the growth investment team for Asia (China, India, South Korea, and Japan), focusing on investments and acquisitions in mid-sized and growing companies.
In 2010, he founded Growth Initiative (gi-tokyo.com) and became its CEO. He engaged in venture investments and advisory activities for small and mid-sized companies. He also served as the CIO at Daiwa Quantum Capital, which focuses on growth investments in Asia.
In 2013, he was appointed Director and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of the Cool Japan Fund, where he was involved in the establishment of a public-private fund.
In 2017, he founded Growthpoint Equity LLP and became its Managing Partner.
